Rating: - Got me drumming 16th Notes
I started drumming practice and anything to do with drumming 2 and a half weeks ago (I started drum lessons last Saturday, been to one 1 hour lesson), I've been practicing every day just doing the basic quarter notes, then 8th notes at 100 bpm... then I used this DVD, got to the 'how to hold the sticks' and that helped so much, I quadrupled the speed of my sticking.
Awesome, worth all the money. I'm glad Tommy Igoe has other DVD's, I'm sure to check those out.
Rating:  - Good BUT!
Tommy is really great teacher, no doubt about it, but there is a word of caution on this DVD, it is for absolutely beginners , and I don't mean people who took one month of private lessons.
I mean people who just went to store decided that they want to be a drummers, and have no idea what is it about.
Half the DVD is how to assemble a drum kit. (nice, but again if you have drum already tuned and assembled this is useless..)

This is a great dvd and is easy to follow.I would recommend to anybody who wants to learn how to play drums.

Based on outstanding reviews, we selected "Getting Started on Drums Featuring Tommy Igoe" as a gift to our 13 year old grandson when we gave him his first drum set. It has been a GREAT tool - held his interest and allowed him to master the basics. IT's only been five weeks and he's now ready for the sequel!

This DVD is absolutely wonderful if your new to drumming. It will get you going right away and have you wishing for more.
